The online business was growing rapidly, and the business engaged with a provider to supply competitor pricing information from google shopping.

It was still a very manual process of assessing the competitor information on a daily basis, and making new pricing decisions across all 3,000 products in their inventory.

The company wanted to be able to offer a credible marketing message that their prices were competitive. This would not be possible without an automated solution.

The Solution

Appliance House selected BlackCurve to be their new competitor pricing data provider.

The BlackCurve Price Optimisation Platform was also selected, and the Rules Engine was configured with a competitor led pricing strategy, alongside minimum margin safeguards.

The Results

Appliance House has been a customer of BlackCurve for more than two years now.

The solution continues to check the price of 3,000 products against Appliance House competitors on a daily basis, and make automated pricing changes in line with their pricing rules.

Appliance House is currently exploring with BlackCurve how it can make use of the A.I. Engine to set the price of products that are not being sold by competitors.

“The onboarding was straightforward and we were soon live. It has freed up a lot of time previously spent manually repricing products that had to be looked at daily to stay ahead.”

“The software can handle complex pricing rules by brand, category, product and competitor. Anything it can't handle out of the box the BlackCurve team are on hand to make sure it works the way you need it to.”
